According to my Hasher friend Daniel Nsibambi who I ran with today – yes am running again! – “you seem as if you are already to trek the Rwenzoris!” Well we were running downhill at the time…. let’s see if he’ll say the same when he sees me struggling UPHILL!

I think working on the fitness is the easy part actually! I’m worried about altitude sickness so shall take a longer route to help acclimatise.
Spending several days in the company of the guides would be superb research. They know the area and the issues. However, the climb is a personal aim. I’d love the chance to climb with all three mountain operators. Just waiting for RMS and REGEA to invite me 🙂

Not sure how climbing a rwenzori peak will make you give good ideas on community tourism. Both tour operators have challenges. Are you going to travel with both? Working on fitness is a good idea. Do bring along warm clothes, sleeping bag. Enjoy. Bert
