Hello again Ingrid. It’s great fun to be reconnecting with blog readers 🙂
As you can sense, there are just too many things to write about when you live on the edge of the forest. (I sometimes wonder how I get any work done. Constant interruptions by wildlife!) In fact, there are far more stories, photos, recordings and anecdotes than I can ever have time to process…
Thanks for sharing your jackfruit / teddy bear story, although most likely to be Vervet (or perhaps red-tailed) monkeys in Naguru. Chimps require big forests to meet their fruit diet demands.
I hope you enjoy future episodes. I have a lot of ideas but my audience will tell me which kind of content resonates most. Much as I can wax lyrical about the forest and its inhabitants, I’ll also be sharing practical travel advice, as well as featuring conversations with a range of interesting people. I hope the first few episodes give you an idea about what I’m trying to achieve – I welcome all feedback and ideas.
Thanks again for listening in.

Well, I couldn’t resist listening to a second podcast (Episode 2) today, and it is just as intriguing. Fancy being able to hear elephants breathing, and colobus growling! I thought my husband’s snoring was pretty impressive. Mind you, the tummy rumbles of camels can be quite alarming.
In Naguru, chimpanzees used to visit our balcony because they especially liked pieces of jackfruit. I once introduced them briefly to my teddy bear through the closed window. They were appalled!
You’re so lucky to be surrounded by beautiful birds and bird song. If everyone could soak themselves in the sounds of nature, I’m sure we would have less strife in the world.
Right, now onto the next episode!
